Indonesian Deputy Minister of Tourism Ni Luh Puspa paid a working visit to Borobudur Temple Tourism Park and Prambanan Tourism Park on Saturday (January 3, 2026). The visit not only aimed to assess the destinations' readiness for the Christmas and New Year holiday season but also served as a means of promoting and inspiring travel for Indonesians. 

At Borobudur Temple Tourism Park, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia started the day by enjoying... sunrise From the summit of Borobudur Temple, the panorama of Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu on the eastern horizon before sunrise is a treat for the sunrise package, which opens in October 2025.

The Indonesian Deputy Minister of Tourism's entourage then headed to Zone I of Prambanan Temple. There, the Deputy Minister listened intently to a tour guide's explanation of the history and core values ​​of Shiva Temple, the main temple in the complex built by Rakai Pikatan.

After that, the Deputy Minister of Tourism's group moved north of Prambanan Temple to enjoy a number of other temples included in the Prambanan Temple Compounds UNESCO World Heritage, including Lumbung Temple, Bubrah Temple and Sewu Temple.

At Sewu Temple, the Indonesian Deputy Minister of Tourism, accompanied by the General Manager of Prambanan and Ratu Boko Ratno Timur, inspected one of the ancillary temples within the complex. The Deputy Minister beamed as he explored the Buddhist-themed temple grounds.

Before visiting Prambanan Temple Tourism Park, the Deputy Minister of Tourism visited Bugisan Tourism Village, located east of Plaosan Temple in Klaten, Central Java. During his visit, he had the opportunity to practice ecoprint batik with local school children.

In addition, the Deputy Minister of Tourism also carried out traditional mask painting activities and enjoyed a number of MSME products from Bugisan Village.

This working visit demonstrates the Ministry of Tourism's attention to several key destinations in Central Java and Yogyakarta. It also underscores the Ministry's commitment to ensuring the readiness of leading national destinations. 

Furthermore, this step also strengthens communication and engagement with the community and tourism stakeholders, while encouraging the development of organized, sustainable tourism that is rich in cultural values ​​and stories ahead of the holiday season.
