InJourney Optimizes Travel Flow for the 2026 Eid Homecoming and Holidays at Airports and Destinations, Recording 6,4% Passenger Traffic Growth
State-owned aviation and tourism holding company PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney, ensures that the 2026 Eid homecoming and return travel arrangements across its managed ecosystem will run smoothly and under control. Increased public mobility is facilitated by airport operational readiness, optimized flight capacity, and connectivity support to tourism areas. This success underscores InJourney's crucial role in managing the aviation and tourism ecosystem in an integrated manner.
"The Eid holiday period is a time of high public mobility, so we are optimizing operational readiness, cross-stakeholder coordination, and service optimization. These efforts are not solely focused on increasing traffic, but also on creating memorable travel experiences. By strengthening the customer experience and integrating services across the ecosystem, we ensure that people not only reach their destinations but also enjoy every step of the journey and vacation in a more seamless and memorable way," said InJourney President Director, Maya Watono.
In the aviation sector, several indicators demonstrate the success of air transportation. During the Eid homecoming period from March 13-29, 2026, airports under InJourney Airports recorded a cumulative total of 63.222 aircraft movements, representing a 9% increase compared to the 2025 Eid period. The number of passengers served reached 8.870.677, representing a 6,4% annual increase. This performance demonstrates the high level of public mobility that remains well-managed during the Eid holiday season. Domestic movement remains the main driver, with 51.873 aircraft movements and 7.009.251 passengers, representing a 10,6% and 7,5% increase, respectively, compared to last year.
InJourney's operational readiness is also reflected in various supporting indicators, including a cumulative load factor of 81,6%, cumulative slot utilization of 82,3%, and the realization of 4.097 extra flights or 75,5% of the total additional flight plans. At the peak of the homecoming flow on March 18, 2026, InJourney airports served 568.871 passengers, while at the peak of the return flow on March 29, 2026, the number of passengers reached 603.575 people, an increase of 14,8% compared to the peak of the return flow the previous year. This achievement confirms the readiness of InJourney airports in anticipating the surge in traffic during the peak period of public travel.
Another indicator of success is increased flight connectivity. For the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday season, the total number of flight routes at 37 airports reached 1.487, an increase of 53 compared to the 2025 Eid al-Fitr holiday season. This year, the number of airlines operating at the 37 airports reached 247, an increase of nine.
Another indicator of success is the relatively high customer satisfaction scores across three aspects: overall satisfaction with airport services (4.8), the airport travel experience during Ramadan (4.81), and the airport's ambiance, decorations, and holiday-themed activities (4.78). These scores were obtained from a Customer Satisfaction Survey (CSAT) of approximately 2.000 respondents, or passengers, at the airport.
The Eid al-Fitr holiday is also enlivened with various entertainment options, allowing people to enjoy it with their families. InJourney Destination Management (IDM) is preparing various cultural arts performances and attractions to entertain those who want to spend the Eid al-Fitr holiday with their families. IDM has prepared several cultural events in the temple area, including the Medang Market, which features local culinary delights, MSME craft products, creative workshops, and art performances. Furthermore, tourists can also participate in a recreational activity titled "Pelangi di Mars," held from March 21-27, 2026, featuring various entertainment installations, themed picnic areas, and photo spots.
The excitement offered by IDM at its various managed tourist destinations has succeeded in attracting tourists. IDM recorded 326.676 visitors to its various destinations between March 20-29, 2026. The breakdown is as follows: Borobudur (69.742), Prambanan (130.083), Teater Pentas (3.797), Ratu Boko (6.189), and TMII (116.865).
In terms of occupancy rates, InJourney Hospitality recorded significant growth in occupancy rates during the period. Overall, occupancy rates at hotels managed by InJourney Hospitality increased by 9% compared to the previous year. In the five-star hotel segment, the highest occupancy rates were recorded at Merusaka Nusa Dua, The Meru Sanur, and Bali Beach Hotel The Heritage Collection. Meanwhile, in the four-star hotel segment, the highest occupancy rates were achieved by Grand Inna Samudera Beach, Truntum Kuta, and Grand Inna Medan. This increase reflects the high public interest in leading destinations and the optimal management and marketing strategies implemented by the company.
Meanwhile, ITDC recorded positive visitor performance during the period of March 13–27, 2026. During that period, The Nusa Dua area received 133.127 tourist visits. The Mandalika recorded 3.306 tourist visits, while The Golo Mori recorded 907 tourist visits. These achievements demonstrate the high activity and attractiveness of ITDC-managed destinations during that period.
In the retail sector, Sarinah, managed by InJourney Retail, recorded an increase in visits, reaching a total of 683. This surge was driven by various thematic programs implemented collaboratively with tenants, ranging from brand activations, special discounts and promotions, to product bundling that increased the public's shopping appeal. This momentum not only drove increased visits but also positively impacted tenant transactions and strengthened Sarinah's role as a retail destination and public space that offers shopping, cultural, and lifestyle experiences in one integrated ecosystem.
This achievement demonstrates that the Eid al-Fitr holiday period not only increases public mobility for homecoming and return trips, but also stimulates tourism activity in various strategic areas managed by InJourney. This positive impact also drives economic growth and development in several national tourism destinations.
Maya affirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of service across its ecosystem, both in the airport sector and tourism destinations, by strengthening operational readiness, strong collaboration with stakeholders, and developing an increasingly integrated travel experience.
"InJourney expresses its highest appreciation to the public and all stakeholders for their collaboration and support, which has ensured the smooth running of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr transportation period. We view this positive achievement as a reflection of the strong synergy within the aviation and tourism ecosystem, which, through coordination and shared commitment, is able to provide a safe, comfortable, and high-quality travel experience for the public," concluded Maya Watono.
