InJourney Destination Management and BTN Collaborate to Support the Strategic Development of Indonesian Cultural Heritage Destinations

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko, also known as InJourney Destination Management (IDM), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN). The agreement was signed by IDM President Director Febrina Intan and BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu at Garuda Field, Prambanan Temple Complex, on Thursday (April 30, 2026). This collaboration is a strategic step in strengthening the development of the national tourism sector based on cultural heritage while simultaneously encouraging the growth of the creative economy.

IDM President Director, Febrina Intan, stated that this collaboration is an important milestone in strengthening the synergy between the financial services sector and national tourism destination managers to provide a world-class tourism experience in the Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, Ratu Boko Palace, and TMII areas.

"This collaboration is a concrete manifestation of the orchestration between state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to strengthen Indonesia's position as a world-class cultural tourism destination. We are not just presenting a destination, but building an ecosystem of experiences that connect spirituality, culture, and natural beauty in one complete and meaningful journey," said Febrina.

He further added that this synergy is expected to support the acceleration of tourism transformation towards a more integrated, inclusive, and value-based model.

"The trust built today is the foundation for creating tourism that is not only globally competitive but also provides sustainable economic and social impacts for the community," he added.

BTN President Director Nixon LP Napitupulu emphasized that support for the tourism and cultural sectors is nothing new for BTN. In recent years, BTN has actively participated in various cultural activities at destinations managed by IDM, including events like Swara Prambanan and Pasar Medang, as part of the company's ongoing commitment to supporting the tourism ecosystem and the creative economy.

"BTN views tourism and culture as important catalysts for national economic growth. Our ongoing involvement in various activities at IDM destinations demonstrates that this collaboration is not just a new initiative, but rather a continuation of our long-term commitment to supporting cultural preservation and empowering local economic actors, including artists and MSMEs," Nixon explained.

He added that BTN shares a vision that aligns with IDM's vision of building an ecosystem that is not only attractive as a destination but also provides added economic value to the community.

"As a financial institution, we want to ensure that the growth of the tourism sector is accompanied by strengthening the local economy. Supporting cultural events, arts attractions, and the development of MSMEs is part of long-term social and economic investment," he said.

The MoU signing ceremony was also enlivened by the Rampak Anoman Rewanda Seta dance performance, which represents courage, loyalty, and enthusiasm in conveying the mandate and values that are in line with the foundation of the cooperation being built.

This collaboration includes the development of various programs based on IDM's leading intellectual property (IP) in the Borobudur and Prambanan areas, such as Swara Prambanan and Pasar Medang. Furthermore, the collaboration is aimed at developing activities relevant to current tourism trends, particularly for the younger generation, through spiritual and wellness programs such as the Lantern Festival and Move at the Temple.

On the other hand, support is also given to regular arts and cultural attractions in the destination area, including the Prambanan Ramayana Ballet, the Roro Jonggrang performance, and Shinta Obong, as part of efforts to maintain the sustainability of traditional performing arts while strengthening the destination's appeal.

Similar collaborations will also be implemented at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) through various events and public activations such as the Chinatown Festival, Ramadhan Exploration, TMII Anniversary, Kumpul Bocah, Goyang Lidah, and the Independence People's Party, which are expected to expand market reach and increase community involvement.

Furthermore, this collaboration includes improving the quality of services and capacity of MSMEs in the Pasar Medang, Borobudur Art Village (KSB), Prambanan, and TMII areas. Both parties will also optimize the use of communication media, promotional channels, and supporting facilities in their respective ecosystems to strengthen marketing strategies and engage with visitors.

Through this collaboration, BTN aims to expand its customer base, particularly among the younger generation and family segments, while simultaneously creating added value for MSMEs and communities surrounding the destinations.

Going forward, this collaboration will also focus on developing more innovative marketing activations and improving the quality of the visitor experience, ensuring that each program delivered has a broader economic and social impact.

Through the signing of this memorandum of understanding, BTN and InJourney Destination Management are optimistic that they can present a variety of relevant, innovative, and impactful programs, while strengthening Indonesia's position as a world-class cultural tourism destination.
