The Indonesian Minister of Tourism inspects the readiness of Prambanan Temple for the school holidays.

Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana paid a working visit to Prambanan Temple Tourism Park on Saturday (May 30). She was welcomed by Gistang Panutur, Commercial Director of InJourney Destination Management, and Ratno Timur, General Manager of Prambanan and Ratu Boko.

During the visit, the Indonesian Minister of Tourism ensured comfort, safety, and smooth service for tourists and transportation service users ahead of the school holidays.

Indonesian Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana began her visit by inspecting several locations in the Prambanan Temple area, including the domestic and international tourist ticket counters to ensure that the ticket purchasing process was fast, orderly, and efficient.

The Indonesian Minister of Tourism also visited the Prambanan Museum to view its well-preserved collection of archaeological objects. The group then headed to Brahma Field to inspect one of the venues for the 2026 Wonderful Indonesia Gourmet (WIG) series. They then visited Sewu Temple, a Buddhist temple complex located on the north side of Prambanan Temple.

"Safety and comfort are the primary concerns of all tourism stakeholders, from the transportation sector and tourist destinations to hotels, restaurants, and other supporting services, to ensure the public has an optimal travel experience," he explained.

Based on field observations, the atmosphere around Prambanan Temple appears conducive and busy with tourists. This is a positive sign for tourist activity ahead of the school holiday season.

In welcoming the school holidays, the Ministry of Tourism is also encouraging the public to enjoy domestic tourism through the "New Way of Vacation" campaign.

This campaign offers a variety of travel options to suit the needs of today's families, ranging from short escape, educational tours for children, intercity land trips, tourist village explorations, and local cultural and culinary experiences.

To facilitate travel planning, the Ministry of Tourism presents MaIA, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based digital platform on Indonesia.travel that helps people find destination inspiration, travel itinerary recommendations, and various travel ideas that suit their family's interests and needs.

The Ministry of Tourism also continues to promote various leading Indonesian destinations as family vacation options, ranging from Lake Toba, Borobudur Temple, Mandalika, Labuan Bajo, to various other interesting destinations in various regions.

Through the "New Way of Vacation" campaign, the Ministry of Tourism encourages people to use travel as a means to create new experiences, strengthen family bonds, and gain a closer understanding of Indonesia's rich culture and natural beauty.

From short trips to exploring near and familiar destinations, every trip can be part of a memorable school holiday story.
