Prambanan Home of Joy for Indonesian Creative Industry & Music Industry Players

InJourney Destination Management Commercial Director Gistang Panutur is committed to making Prambanan a home of joy for Indonesia's creative and music industries. He made this statement at the Prambanan Jazz Festival 2026 press conference at Agastya Field, Prambanan Temple Tourism Park complex, Yogyakarta, on Thursday (July 2, 2026).

“We continue toencouragement national and international scale events, because impact-it is not only for the organizers or the destination, but also for the surrounding community, social, and economic aspects around the destination. That's why we encourage Prambanan to become one of home of joy for creative industry players, the music industry in Indonesia," he explained.

As a world cultural heritage destination, organizing every event in the Prambanan area needs to prioritize a balance between preserving cultural heritage and utilizing cultural spaces responsibly.

“We have a responsibility to ensure that every activity that takes place in the area heritage "We maintain the conservation and cultural values ​​represented by Prambanan Temple. Therefore, we always ensure that the concept of each event is linked to the character of the destination, thus reinforcing each other," explained Gistang.

He added that the entire festival process had been coordinated with various stakeholders, including conservation authorities. In addition to conservation, InJourney Destination Management also prioritized comfort, safety, and sustainability throughout the festival.

"We are coordinating with the authorities by assessing all activities in the area, including music concerts. We are ensuring that all activities are safe for the temple buildings and remain in line with preservation principles. 

In the Prambanan area itself, IDM fosters over 600 MSMEs, which benefit from increased tourism activity during the festival. IDM presents Prambanan not as a silent monument, but as a vibrant cultural space.

"Music is part of cultural expression, so we want to continue to provide space for various works of art to be present in this area responsibly," he said.

Indonesia's leading music festival, Prambanan Jazz 2026, returns this week for three days, from July 3–5, 2026, at the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park. This year, the Prambanan Jazz Festival features international musicians such as Niki, Henry Moodie, Michael Learns to Rock, Joey Alexander, The Rose, and Xdinary Heroes. 

This year, the Prambanan Jazz Festival welcomed tens of thousands of visitors. Collaboration with promoters, local governments, security forces, and all stakeholders was crucial to ensure a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable experience for every visitor.

"Therefore, we want to make Prambanan a home of joy, home to various creative works and the Indonesian music industry," he concluded.
