To kick off its 46th anniversary celebrations, PT TWC visited the grave of its first CEO as a reminder of the spirit of building a legacy for the nation.

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero) began its series of 46th Anniversary celebrations by conducting a pilgrimage to the grave of the first President Director of PT TWC, the late Boediardjo, at Tingal Kulon Cemetery, Wanurejo Village, Borobudur District, Magelang Regency, Tuesday (14/7). 

The event served as a moment of reflection on the company's long journey and a tribute to the figure who laid the foundation for managing the Temple Tourism Park area, leading it to its current development.

The pilgrimage was attended by the Board of Directors of PT TWC, the Board of Directors of PT Taman Wisata Borobudur (TWB), Group Heads, General Managers, and representatives of company personnel. The event began with a prayer and a flower laying ceremony, honoring the late Boediardjo's service and dedication in building PT TWC since its inception.

The pilgrimage has become a tradition held every year leading up to the company's anniversary. This simple ceremony holds profound meaning: it commemorates the struggles of our predecessors and reaffirms the commitment of all PT TWC employees to continue the ideal of developing and managing cultural heritage destinations that provide the broadest possible benefits to the community and the nation.

PT TWC President Director Febrina Intan said that the pilgrimage was not merely an annual ceremonial event, but rather a form of respect for the figure who had laid the foundation for the company's journey to become one of the leading cultural heritage destination managers in Indonesia.

"This pilgrimage is a tradition we perform at least annually. It is a token of our appreciation and respect for the late Boediardjo, who built PT TWC from scratch. His pioneering work forty-six years ago laid the foundation for the company's journey to where we are today. Our duty is to carry on his spirit, values, and ideals to continue to provide greater benefits to the community and the nation."

According to Febrina, the early stages of establishing PT TWC were not easy. Various challenges had to be overcome, ranging from limited resources to social dynamics within the community as the Borobudur development began.

"His struggle during that time was full of challenges. The changes he made were not always easily accepted and even faced some resistance from the community. However, with determination, dialogue, and strong commitment, he was able to build the foundation for managing the Borobudur area, which has since developed into what it is today."

He added that over the past two years, various improvements have been successfully implemented in the Borobudur Temple area, including the redevelopment of Zones I, II, and III. These efforts represent a significant milestone in preserving the area and paving the way for sustainable destination development.

"Thank God, we can still feel the results of the foundations laid. The condition of the Borobudur area is much better than it was in the early days of its management. However, our journey is not over yet," he said.

Furthermore, Febrina emphasized that PT TWC's future challenges are not only to preserve the world's cultural heritage, but also to ensure that the destination's existence can provide a greater social and economic impact for the surrounding community.

"We still have a long way to go. We want Borobudur to be known not only as a temple or tourist destination, but as a center of growth capable of providing economic, social, cultural, and welfare impacts for the surrounding community. This is the spirit we continue to carry forward, inspired by the ideals of our company founders."

This spirit is in line with the theme of PT TWC's 46th anniversary, "From Us, For Us, For the Nation", which reflects that every company's success begins with the dedication of people within the organization, grows through collaboration, and culminates in real benefits for society and the progress of the nation.

On the same occasion, the grandson of the late Boediardjo, Muhammad Reza, expressed his appreciation for PT TWC's consistency in maintaining the tradition of remembering the services of the company's founders.

"On behalf of the extended Boediardjo family, we wish PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko a happy birthday. We hope that PT TWC will continue to develop, be increasingly successful, and always be a home for cultural preservation as well as the pride of Indonesian tourism."

According to Reza, PT TWC has a very deep meaning for his family because it is an inseparable part of the life journey of the late Boediardjo.

"For our family, PT TWC is more than just an institution or a company. PT TWC is part of Mr. Boediardjo's life journey, where he dedicated his thoughts, energy, and aspirations to developing the management of the Borobudur area. Therefore, we are deeply grateful that this togetherness and good relationship continues to this day."

Through this pilgrimage, PT TWC not only commemorates the services of the company's founders, but also strengthens the commitment of all company employees to continue the struggle to preserve world cultural heritage, build a sustainable tourism ecosystem, and provide wider benefits to the community.
