Appreciation of First Visitors at the Temple Tourism Park: PT TWC Invites Tourists to Plant Trees, Echoing the Value of Sustainable Tourism

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (PT TWC) welcomes the first visitors to the destinations of Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur, TWC Prambanan, TWC Keraton Ratu Boko, Ramayana Theater and Stage and also Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) in 2024.

The welcoming ceremony for the first visitors included a number of traditional arts performances and a group tree planting event at the TWC destination. This aligns with the "Blessing in Harmony" value , which combines several social, natural, and spiritual activities. This event is expected to provide an unforgettable experience, fostering joy and happiness for visitors.

This routine tradition every time we welcome the new year is presented as a means to increase the awareness of tourists to participate in preserving the environment, especially in cultural heritage areas that are rich in historical relics of the Indonesian nation. The participation of tourists in preserving this heritage destination is part of encouraging the increase in quality and sustainable tourism in Indonesia.

The first visitors to the Borobudur Temple (TWC) will be greeted with ecoprint cloth garlands featuring Bodhi tree leaves, a symbol of the tree of enlightenment depicted in the reliefs of Borobudur Temple. A number of arts and cultural performances will enliven the event, including the Bergodo and Pamong Badra processions. These processions will also accompany tourists to the designated tree-planting site.

Tree planting was carried out by the first domestic tourists (wisnus) and foreign tourists (Wisman) who visited the TWC Borobudur destination. After this welcoming ceremony, tourists were also invited to enjoy a breakfast at Manohara Borobudur, before visiting Borobudur Temple.

The first tourists to visit the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park (TWC) and Ratu Boko Palace destinations were also greeted with ecoprint cloth garlands with a Kalpataru tree motif which symbolizes the tree of virtue and is engraved on the reliefs of Prambanan Temple.

The first visiting tourists were also welcomed with the performance of traditional art groups from local residents, including srandul art, gejog lesung, edan-edanan dance and gambyong dance. Tourists were also invited to plant kalpataru trees at the destination.

"Tree planting is our tradition of inviting active involvement of tourists to preserve the environment in heritage destinations. In addition, planting bodhi trees and kalpataru trees is a symbol of hope for the realization of a future full of enlightenment, virtue, prosperity and peace for Indonesia and the whole world," explained President Director of PT TWC Febrina Intan, in Yogyakarta, Monday (1/1/2024).

Meanwhile, the Theater and Performance Unit, which manages Rama Shinta Garden Resto, is offering a special Prambanan Sunrise package . Visitors can enjoy the beauty of Prambanan Temple while waiting for the sunrise from between the temple walls.

Waiting for the first ray of sunlight in 2024 can be tried by visitors who like to pursue special moments with their partners, colleagues or friends. This activity has a deep meaning, both for self-introspection and a way to maintain connectivity with nature. Witnessing this moment is a symbol of reflection on the life that has been lived while preparing oneself to welcome a new life to be lived.

Prambanan Sunrise , which started at 05.00 WIB, was also enlivened by traditional performing arts performances and closed with a delicious meal from the Prambanan Ramayana Performance Theater area.

"Prambanan Sunrise is one of our signature events to welcome the new year. We want to showcase the beauty of the panoramic sunrise, complemented by the splendor of Prambanan Temple, adding to its beauty. The entire Blessing in Harmony program embodies our hope and commitment to providing a quality and sustainable tourism destination. We hope the public will participate and support us in advancing tourism in Indonesia," concluded Febrina Intan.

In this busy holiday season of Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024, PT TWC is committed to presenting memorable and quality heritage tourism destinations for tourists. One of them is done by providing the best service to tourists, by presenting inspiring, educational, and cultural destinations and providing a sense of security and comfort for tourists.
