In an Audience with Sri Sultan HB X, IDM Collaborates to Improve Yogyakarta's Tourism Ecosystem

The Board of Directors of InJourney Destination Management held an audience with the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, at Gedhong Wilis, Kepatihan Complex, Yogyakarta, on Monday (January 26, 2026). The meeting aimed to align IDM's initiatives with the Yogyakarta Provincial Government's vision of strengthening the tourism ecosystem in Yogyakarta and its surrounding areas.

IDM President Director Febrina Intan explained the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta's message, which emphasized the importance of strengthening an inclusive tourism ecosystem in the region. According to Sri Sultan HB X, destination development is expected to avoid being trapped in ego-systems, but rather to build a solid and collaborative ecosystem.

"His most crucial message was collaboration. We can't just highlight one or two attractions, like Prambanan or Borobudur. Promotion must encompass Yogyakarta's entire ecosystem," explained Febrina Intan.

InJourney, as Indonesia's aviation and tourism holding company, is committed to facilitating access for both international and domestic tourists, ensuring a smoother and more integrated distribution of tourists to various destinations in Yogyakarta and its surroundings.

"Through this collaboration, it is hoped that sites like Prambanan Temple and Ratu Boko Palace will no longer exist in isolation. These major sites will become the driving force behind Yogyakarta's tourism journey to the international level while remaining grounded in local values," he continued.

IDM is also interested in learning about strengthening the people's economy, a priority. Febrina Intan openly expressed IDM's interest in the SiBakul platform, successfully developed by the Yogyakarta Regional Government for managing MSMEs.

This synergy is expected to enable local MSMEs to move up a class and actively participate in the tourism supply chain under the auspices of InJourney. 

"We still have a lot to learn, especially how to integrate MSME development through SiBakul so that the benefits of our destinations are truly felt by the community," he explained.

Present at the meeting were the Assistant to the Regional Secretariat of DIY for General Administration Srie Nurkyatsiwie, the Assistant to the Regional Secretariat of DIY for Economic and Development Tri Saktiyana, the Head of the DIY Tourism Office Imam Pratanadi, the Head of the DIY Culture Office Dian Lakshmi Pratiwi and the Chairperson of the DIY Tourism Promotion Board, Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Bendara and the Chairperson of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) DIY Deddy Pranowo.
