Disability Rises Empowered Encourages Independence of Disabled People in Bantul Regency

Supporting independence for people with disabilities through business activities is an effective way to help them achieve a more prosperous, independent life and reduce dependence on assistance from other people or social institutions. Through this, they have the opportunity to get the help they need to start a business, accelerate the process towards independence and improve their quality of life.

InJourney Destination Management supports this by distributing a number of work equipment assistance to disabled MSME actors who are members of SAPA DIFA in Imogiri, Bantul. This environmental responsibility program entitled "Disabilitas Bangkit Berdaya" is presented as a form of support for disabled colleagues so that they can increase their resource potential so that they can improve their welfare and benefit the environment.

This assistance was handed over directly by TJSL & SME Funding Division Head IDM Ismiyati to SAPA DIFA Supervisor Totok Pamuji Raharja, at the Multipurpose Building of Kebonagung Village, Imogiri, Bantul, Wednesday (18/12/2024). 

"We are committed to supporting or presenting sustainable tourism, so besides focusing on the targets we achieve, we must also care about the environment," explained Ismiyati.

SAPA DIFA Supervisor Totok Pamuji Raharja encouraged his colleagues with disabilities to continue improving their skills through work tools provided by PT TWC. He hopes that this can encourage economic growth for the disabled.

"This assistance is a form of attention that you must develop. Hopefully this assistance will further increase the motivation of work enthusiasm and can increase work productivity so that it can increase your economy," he explained.

Haryadi (35 years old) said he was happy to receive additional work tools in the form of a wood planer to support his work. This assistance can improve his work productivity even better.

"This machine adds value to the products I produce, namely bird cages. Thank you for this useful assistance," he explained.

Meanwhile, Sulistyo (33 years old) hopes that PT TWC can continue to monitor the activities of SAPA DIFA friends. The man who sells 3 kg gas cylinders emphasized the need for cross-sector collaboration to support improving the welfare of disabled people.

"Hopefully this program will not only end with the distribution of work equipment assistance, but we also need to get further guidance so that we can continue to develop, be independent, and prosperous," he concluded.
