InJourney Wins Platinum ESG Excellence Award 2026, Strengthening Commitment to Sustainable Tourism Development
PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney's commitment to ESG implementation has resulted in three awards from the TJSL & CSR Award 2026. The three awards are the Platinum Excellence Award 2026, the Leadership Excellence Award given to Herdy Harman, InJourney's Director of HR & Digital, and the "Gold Award" for the Environmental Pillar category.
"Winning the Platinum ESG Excellence Award, the Gold Award in the Environmental Pillar category, and the Leadership Excellence Award in the 2026 TJSL & CSR Awards recognizes InJourney's consistent integration of ESG principles into its strategy, governance, and business activities. These awards also serve as a driving force for InJourney to continue strengthening collaboration and innovation to build an increasingly inclusive, resilient, and sustainable Indonesian aviation and tourism ecosystem," said Herdy Harman, InJourney's Director of Human Resources and Digital.
The ESG Excellence Award (Platinum) is supported by InJourney Group's gradual ESG transformation through strengthening governance, strategy, policies, data management, and integrating ESG into business processes. This transformation began with the development of an ESG baseline assessment and gap analysis, an ESG roadmap, and the development of an ESG Dashboard as a tool for monitoring InJourney Group's sustainability performance.
Meanwhile, the Gold Award for the Environmental Pillar category was achieved through the implementation of various decarbonization and environmental conservation initiatives, such as solar energy utilization, vehicle electrification, water and waste management, tree and mangrove cultivation, and biodiversity protection. These commitments are realized through the flagship TJSL InJourney Green program, which encompasses various decarbonization and environmental conservation initiatives.
To further expand its sustainability impact on social and community aspects, InJourney also provides training programs for MSMEs through InJourney UMKM by Sarinah Pandu; hospitality training for tourism actors through InJourney Hospitality House; and social assistance, education, health and community welfare programs through InJourney Community Care.
This award completes a series of achievements achieved by InJourney in the field of CSR, InJourney won the Platinum Winner for the Social Pillar category at the TJSL & CSR Award 2025. In addition, in July 2026, InJourney won the Indonesia Sustainability Award 2026, a five-star predicate for the implementation of ESG principles, and the CEO Sustainability Leadership Award.
Throughout 2025-2026, InJourney won 11 national awards in the ESG and TJSL fields, including: CNBC ESG Award, Nusantara Sustainability Award, Indonesia Sustainability Award, ESG Initiative Awards, TJSL & CSR Award 2025 – Platinum Winner for Social Pillars
The award recognizes a series of programs implemented in accordance with the vision of "Sustainable Tourism Economy and Creating Impact for Communities." Based on this vision, InJourney continues to promote sustainable tourism, namely tourism that is not only oriented towards economic growth, but also must provide real social and environmental impacts and create shared value for the community and all stakeholders. InJourney recognizes that sustainability is currently not an option, but rather a necessary foundation for carrying out the transformation of Indonesian tourism.
InJourney's sustainable tourism framework is supported by two main pillars: environmental and socio-economic. The environmental pillar is designed to minimize the environmental impact of aviation and tourism activities while encouraging the adoption of environmentally friendly practices throughout the value chain. It focuses on responsible water and waste management, strengthening climate and environmental strategies, and biodiversity protection and conservation efforts.
In the socio-economic pillar, InJourney prioritizes improving the quality of life for local communities. This effort is realized through programs to improve health and well-being, alleviate poverty, expand access to education, and strengthen partnerships with local businesses and MSMEs. This approach ensures that the economic benefits of tourism development are felt inclusively and equitably by communities surrounding destinations.
"InJourney remains committed to implementing sustainable tourism, particularly through efforts to reduce emissions and develop sustainable aviation and tourism ecosystems. We realize this commitment through the use of renewable energy at nine airports, the electrification of vehicles and operational equipment, circular economy-based water and waste management, and the planting of 40.000 mangrove trees. All of these initiatives are designed to have a measurable environmental impact and support Indonesia's Net Zero Emission target," added Herdy Harman.
The TJSL & CSR Award is an award presented by BUMN Track, supported by BTA Academy. It recognizes companies deemed successful in implementing sound TJSL governance, producing program innovations, creating sustainable social, economic, and environmental impacts, and integrating TJSL implementation into their business strategies.
This year, in addition to assessing the award categories of Social, Economic, Environmental, Legal, and Governance Pillars, there are additional special categories in the form of the ESG Excellence Award, CSV Excellence Award, and Leadership Award.
In 2026, the TJSL & CSR Award adopted the theme "TJSL Transition Towards ESG Rating and Creating Shared Value." This theme reflects the changing perspective of the business world, where TJSL has now become an instrument for strengthening business sustainability, enhancing corporate reputation, strengthening investor confidence, and creating added value for companies and society. This transformation is increasingly important in the era of Danantara Indonesia, when state-owned enterprises are required to become world-class corporations that excel in business performance while simultaneously delivering tangible social impact.
