The Success of the First Major Festival in Central Java-DIY Post-Pandemic

Prambanan Jazz Festival 2022 successfully featured famous Indonesian musicians. During the three days held, thousands of spectators from various generations were seen filling Prambanan Temple Tourism Park which became the stage for the “Sewindu Merayakan Rindu” event.

The 2022 Prambanan Jazz Festival will be held at the Brahma Mandala Field. Spectators who come are required to have received their second vaccination. The organizers also provide vaccinators for spectators who have not received their second vaccination.

One of the audience, Nadia Larasati (18), a resident of Depok, said that she attended the 2022 Prambanan Jazz Festival after seeing a number of her favorite musicians performing as part of the line-up. Nadia revealed the names of Tulus, Fiersa Bestari, Kunto Aji, Melancholic Bitch, Maliq and D'Essentials and Pamungkas as the names of the musicians she wanted to see at the 2022 Prambanan Jazz Festival.

“I came to Yogyakarta on purpose to watch Prambanan Jazz. Watching with my old high school friends. Some of them are now in Surabaya, Bandung and Bali. We made an appointment to meet and watch here. It just so happens that many of the performers at Prambanan Jazz are people we really like,” said Nadia.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo, who came on the second day of PJF 2022, seemed amazed by the enthusiasm of the audience who came. For him, this was an extraordinary longing after two years of holding back due to the pandemic.

“It turns out there is an extraordinary longing. Seeing the enthusiasm, it seems like the title is two years of being stuck together. They are overflowing here. It has been proven that three days until tomorrow, I suspect it will be crowded. The performances are also extraordinary,” said Ganjar after watching the 2022 Prambanan Jazz Festival on the second day.

Founder of Rajawali Indonesia & CEO of Prambanan Jazz Festival, Anas Syahrul Alimi admitted to being amazed by the enthusiasm of the audience. "Prambanan Jazz Festival was very successful, it was far beyond our expectations," said Anas Syahrul Alimi, Sunday (3/7).

Anas Syahrul Alimi was even happier seeing the happy faces of thousands of spectators who attended last weekend. "Everyone is happy, I think because people can finally come to offline concerts. Prambanan Jazz Festival is the first large-scale festival in Yogyakarta, Central Java, after the pandemic," said Anas.

Meanwhile, President Director of PT TWC Edy Setijono said that holding this national event is a form of support for the recovery of the performing arts industry (showbiz) in Indonesia.

"There is already a big concert agenda scheduled to be held in the Taman Wisata area. Of course, this is a sign that the industry is starting to recover and is proven by the enthusiasm of the audience at PJF 2022," he concluded.
