BUMN Collaboration Supports Development of Bukit Cubung Tourist Destination

The development of tourist destinations requires the role and collaboration of various parties, especially destinations that are managed independently by village communities. This has a positive impact through job creation and the development of the village economy.

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko together with PT Angkasa Pura I collaborate to develop the Bukit Cubung tourist destination in Jatirejo Village, Kapanewon Lendah, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. Collaboration in the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program accelerates the development of the destination by adding facilities to support tourist activities.

Corporate Secretary of PT TWC AY Suhartanto, General Manager of YIA, Agus Pandu Purnama, TJSL & SME Funding Manager Ismiyati and Stakeholder Relation Manager of Yogyakarta International Airport Ike Yutiane directly inaugurated the revitalization of Bukit Cubung, Friday (16/12/2022). This assistance is expected to increase the attractiveness of tourist attractions that have an impact on the welfare of the surrounding community.

"We are required to collaborate with the surrounding community for development in terms of tourism and others. We are grateful to have been given the opportunity to synergize in providing assistance, which hopefully, what has been given can be utilized to help the surrounding destination facilities," explained AY Suhartanto.

YIA General Manager Agus Pandu Purnama said that this assistance may not be one hundred percent able to accommodate all destination needs. However, he hopes that this assistance can stimulate the community to be more active, creative and productive in managing destinations in the future.

"Through this program, it is hoped that it can help support tourist activities at the Bukit Cubung destination, create productive and creative economic activities, and maintain the culture of the local community," he explained.

Bukit Cubung Tourism, located in Lendah, Kulon Progo Regency. Bukit Cubung tourist destination is one of the alternative tourism in the southeastern region of Kulon Progo pioneered by the Village-Owned Enterprise Binangun Jati Unggul. Head of Jatirejo Village Novie Bayu Widyasmara said that the development of this destination has only progressed 30 percent, the Jatirejo BUMDes Business is still supported by the village government through capital participation.

"We hope that this collaboration will continue, considering that the masterplan for the development of Bukit Cubung is still long and there are still many things that will continue to be developed with the hope that it can become a leading destination in the western region of Kali Progo," he concluded.
