BUMN Collaboration for Indonesia, TWC Greens Borobudur with Tree Planting Action

As a Super Priority Tourism Destination (DPSP), Borobudur has been designated as a driving force for the development of the tourism ecosystem in Indonesia. One way to achieve this is through the implementation of Green Tourism and Sustainable Tourism . The implementation of Green Tourism aims to preserve Borobudur Temple and achieve ecosystem balance within the Borobudur tourism area, with the aim of driving green tourism programs towards sustainable and high-quality tourism.

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (TWC), as Indonesia Heritage Management, is fully committed to the sustainable and high-quality management of heritage and cultural destinations . It focuses not only on the main destinations but also on the preservation and development of the surrounding areas.

PT TWC is committed to implementing sustainable cultural heritage tourism through integrated management of cultural heritage and tourism activities , based on three key factors: heritage conservation, economic investment , and civil society engagement . This requires the support of various stakeholders through various collaborative synergies. As consistently encouraged by State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, SOEs are reminded not to act in isolation but to prioritize collaboration in running their businesses and activities.

As part of its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) collaboration program, TWC is partnering with PT Pegadaian, Perum Perhutani, and AirNav Indonesia to implement the Tree Planting Program in the Borobudur DPSP Area. At least 800 trees will green the Borobudur landscape, planted simultaneously by various Borobudur stakeholders, and announced by State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir via live streaming.

The purpose of this activity is to support the government in realizing a good land ecosystem, in order to preserve the environment for the future in the Borobudur DPSP area. At this stage, the activity was centered in Kamal Hamlet, Giritengah Village, Borobudur District, which has a land area of approximately 1,5 ha. The series of activities continued by distributing seedlings to Borobudur Village and Sambeng Village. The number of seedlings to be distributed is 800 trees along with solid and liquid active humus fertilizer.

"BUMN through the TJSL program provides assistance in the form of premium Longan tree seedlings and Alligator Avocado tree seedlings, while also carrying out joint planting activities. This is an effort to empower and educate the community about the importance of flora for the preservation of nature and ecosystem balance. It is hoped that in the future, a new tourism magnet in the Agro Tourism sector can be created in Giritengah Village, to support tourism development in the Borobudur area and boost the economic activities of its people," said Edy Setijono, President Director of TWC.

Furthermore, TWC President Director Edy Setijono added that the presence of State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir via live streaming gave encouragement to all participants who attended, having a love and calling of the heart to participate in preserving Borobudur, one of which is by planting trees.

State-Owned Enterprises ( SOEs ) also have core values that serve as guidelines in carrying out their duties and responsibilities. These core values are Trustworthy, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative. This BUMN Collaborative Tree Planting Activity for Indonesia is a concrete manifestation of how BUMN Core Values are well implemented through collaborative synergy. Planting trees is a form of human care and love for the earth. Planting trees, planting goodness. Hopefully, every tree seedling planted out of kindness today will become a field of goodness and benefit for the community around Borobudur. Starting with love and concern for the environment supporting the Borobudur Temple destination, accompanied by sincerity to mutually protect, care for, and preserve it.
