Exclusive Collaboration: Prambanan Temple Roars with Art at the End of the Year Through the Swara Prambanan Performance
After announcing the end-of-year event, the Swara Prambanan festival, some time ago, the roar of the festival's excitement is increasingly heard. In the festival that carries the story of the 1000th Proof of Love taken from the legend of Roro Jonggrang, the audience will enjoy the last twilight of 2023 with musicians and artists from Jogja.
Sheila On 7, Shaggydog, Ndarboy Genk, Jikustik, Kunto Aji, and Jogja Hiphop Foundation are confirmed to be the line-up at Swara Prambanan. In addition, the festival that will take place at the Prambanan Temple tourist park also promises an extraordinary art experience by presenting collaborative art installations and cultural activity spaces for visitors. Cultural preservation is also carried out by choosing the name of the event, namely "Swara Prambanan". Not only is the name easy to remember but there is a meaning behind it, namely Swara which comes from the word suara which is Sanskrit.
Febrina Intan, President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi, stated that the Swara Prambanan performance could become an annual event that preserves Indonesian culture, particularly from the city of Yogyakarta, and attracts international tourists. "We want Swara Prambanan to be a platform to showcase the great works of Jogja artists through music, art installations, and dance drama performances. We also want visitors to participate in efforts to preserve our culture. Therefore, we have carefully prepared a number of exciting activities. We also want to attract international tourists to visit Jogja and introduce them to Jogja's culture in a unique and exciting way."
Welcoming the visitors with an authentic atmosphere, a large art installation by Wisnu Ajitama is beautifully installed against the backdrop of Prambanan Temple. Various traditional dances are also ready to be performed. Then, collaborating with local musicians, the strains of keroncong music from Voice of Citizens (VOC) and Keroncong Atap are expected to add to the excitement of this festival. Moreover, the Angklung Rajawali Malioboro music group will also "move" the warm nuances of the Malioboro street angkringan into the Swara Prambanan venue.
In addition, Sinema Rakyat, in collaboration with the Jogja Community Forum-NETPAC Asian Film Festival (JAFF), will offer an outdoor film viewing experience. Visitors are also invited to try herbal medicine (jamu) preparation, batik painting, kite flying, a Wayang Suket (Wayang Suket) workshop , and a pottery workshop . And don't miss the tantalizing culinary delights on offer at the Medang Market, which, as its name suggests, represents a shopping area of the past. All within the same festival.
Andri Verraning Ayu as CEO of Antara Suara said that his party faced challenges in developing creative ideas for Swara Prambanan, because they wanted to present a music concert that was not only exciting but also left a mark on the hearts of visitors.
"There were certainly challenges in preparing Swara Prambanan, particularly considering the venue, which is a historical site. There were things we had to respect and couldn't change, such as the historical narrative, the use of certain terms, behavioral guidelines, and so on. However, because we all shared the same spirit and vision, all these challenges were overcome, and preparations proceeded as expected."
Ayu added that all parties hope that visitors will not only be happy after returning from Swara Prambanan, but also have a unique experience that will leave a lasting impression on their hearts and indirectly help preserve Indonesian culture, especially Jogja.
A stunning collaboration is the key synergy that makes Swara Prambanan an event that brings a unique touch by combining art, culture, and the atmosphere of Prambanan. This collaborative process is the result of a joint effort to design a unique concept.
Adam Subarkah, a member of Sheila On 7, and Adhitya Bhagaskara, a member of Jikustik expressed their full support for all art performances born from the hands of the nation's children and collaborated with local artists "This is an extraordinary opportunity to be involved in an art festival that combines various creative aspects and art as a whole. Seeing the collaboration that occurs with other local artists and musicians brings a sense of togetherness and the richness of Jogja's creativity. We hope to make a positive contribution and create an emotional connection with the audience through our music. Because of the collaboration and unique idea of this event, Sheila on 7 chose to celebrate the new year at Swara Prambanan," explained Adam.
Swara Prambanan is not just a year-end closing event, but rather an engaging, inspiring artistic journey that provides an opportunity for all attendees to contribute their own creative talents. The engaging experience extends beyond the event itself, starting with the visitor journey through the easier and more secure Swara Prambanan ticket purchase process. Loket has launched its new app, LOKÉT X, which will be used for the first time at the Swara Prambanan event .
