Collaboration to Preserve Local Culture in the Prambanan Temple Area

InJourney Destination Management is supporting cultural preservation in the Prambanan Temple area through arts and cultural collaboration at the Tlogo Culture Festival on Sunday, November 9, 2025.

This collaboration featured the Wiyaga IDM team accompanying a cultural parade at the Brahmana Field in Prambanan Temple Tourism Park. The strains of Javanese gendhing (gendhing) from the IDM gamelan team accompanied the Kundhika Tirta and Bedhayan Jonggrang dances.

The Kundhika Tirta dance visualizes the process of protecting, caring for, and utilizing water sources wisely and sustainably. Meanwhile, the Bedhayan Jonggrang dance represents the legend of Roro Jonggrang at Prambanan Temple.

"The connection between Prambanan Temple and Tlogo Village is very close. It's not just a territorial connection; the people of Tlogo Village also have an emotional connection to Prambanan Temple. Prambanan Temple is the inspiration for the Tlogo Culture Festival," explained Tlogo Village cultural expert Jayeng Legowo.

The Tlogo Cultural Festival is an annual event held by Tlogo Village, Prambanan, Klaten. Organized by the Village Cultural Institute in collaboration with the Tlogo community, this event aims to raise awareness of the preservation of local arts and culture.

According to Jayeng Logowo, the history of the Tlogo Village community needs to be accommodated through community creativity programs in the arts and culture sector. This aligns with Tlogo Village's location on the east side of Prambanan Temple.

IDM is working together to develop local arts and culture while simultaneously developing village tourism. This collaboration between Wiyaga IDM and Tlogo Village demonstrates a shared commitment to supporting the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park, which impacts community well-being and maintains harmony among stakeholders.
