IDM Wins TOP GRC Awards 2025 for Its Commitment to Maintaining Integrity through Good Corporate Governance
InJourney Destination Management won two awards at the TOP Government, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Awards 2025 at the Raffles Hotel in Jakarta on Monday, September 8, 9. This year, IDM won the TOP GRC Awards 2025 #STAR 2025 award and the MOST COMMITTED GRC LEADER 4 award for Joel Siahaan, IDM's Director of Finance and Risk Management.
This award demonstrates the company's professional, competent, and trustworthy management. IDM has demonstrated good corporate governance by implementing risk management and compliance across all business lines to ensure sustainable value creation and protection .
"For us, implementing GRC isn't just about chasing scores or awards, but rather a foundation for sustainable value creation and protection . GRC helps us ensure the company is sustainable and competitive. Our hope is not only at the national level but also globally," said IDM Director of Finance and Risk Management Joel Siahaan.
The award ceremony, which was attended directly by IDM's Director of Finance and Risk Management Joel Siahaan and IDM's Corporate Governance & Risk Management Group Head Cahyo Sunarko, was attended by 134 companies from various sectors that were deemed successful in implementing corporate governance, risk management, and compliance (Governance, Risk, Compliance/GRC).
Joel Siahaan affirmed his commitment to implementing good corporate governance through strengthening structures, processes, evaluations, and culture. To support this, IDM has developed various policy documents, including the Corporate Charter, Code of Conduct, Integrated Governance Guidelines, Integrity, Transparency, and Compliance Guidelines, Investment and Corporate Action Guidelines, and Risk Management Guidelines.
"These guidelines are not just a formality, but a concrete guide for every company employee to act professionally, transparently, and accountably," he explained.
At InJourney Destination Management, GRC integration into the business is reflected in the implementation of the Four Eyes Principle and the Investment Analysis Note. IDM adopts the Four Eyes Principle , an internal control mechanism that requires every activity involving decision-making (particularly for business transactions) to be controlled by a review or assessment by an independent and competent third party.
In addition, IDM management implements an Investment Analysis Note, or a comprehensive study of financial, business, environmental, social, economic, fiscal, service, operational, legal, risk management, governance, compliance, and other relevant aspects.
Meanwhile, to support the implementation of reliable risk management, InJourney Destination Management implements a three lines model or risk management and internal supervision that has clear roles and responsibilities at three levels (lines).
The first line is the operational unit that manages day-to-day risks; the second line is the risk management and compliance support function that provides guidance and oversight; and the third line is internal audit that provides independent assurance. Management also launched a " think risk" campaign to build a risk-aware culture across all levels of the organization, with the goal of achieving a risk culture.
"This is to ensure a clear division of responsibilities between business process owners (first line), risk and compliance support functions (second line), and functions that provide independent assurance (third line). All lines work and support each other under the leadership of the Board of Directors and the Board of Commissioners," he explained.
In 2024, TWC recorded a Risk Maturity Index (RMI) score of 2,54 (Developing Phase+), up from 2,4 (Developing Phase) the previous year. Meanwhile, its GCG score, based on an independent assessment for the 2024 financial year, reached 84,91, an improvement over the 2023 score of 84,87. Furthermore, TWC has implemented ISO 37001 certification for its anti-bribery management system.
In terms of compliance, TWC is moving towards systematic compliance management through the initial implementation of a Regulatory Compliance System (RCS). Through the RCS, the company can monitor each group's level of compliance with external regulations.
Compliance management is considered successful when the requirements of articles that have legal consequences have been fulfilled, no compliance risks have occurred, and all operational activities take place in accordance with the principles of good corporate governance or GCG.
In 2024, TWC will evaluate compliance with regulations, including laws, presidential regulations, government regulations, regional regulations, regulations of the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, regulations of the Ministry of Finance, regulations of the Ministry of Environment, and regional regulations.
"Based on the evaluation results, PT TWC's regulatory compliance rate in 2024 reached 98,43 percent," explained Joel Siahaan.
The success of GRC implementation at TWC is supported by the implementation of digital systems such as e-procurement , whistleblowing system (WBS), internal ticketing system , and HR portal for mapping talent development needs.
"We believe this digital transformation will strengthen the accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness of GRC implementation across all levels," he concluded.
