To commemorate the 81st anniversary of Indonesian Independence, the Borobudur Museum and Art Village held a Cultural Parade and Folk Festival on Saturday (August 15th). The event, titled "Exploring Cultural Potential III and Folk Festival," is part of an effort to preserve cultural heritage and boost economic activity in the surrounding area.

Approximately 2.000 participants, including employees, administrators, and vendors, covered a distance of approximately 3 kilometers, starting at the Beringin area of Borobudur and ending at the Borobudur Museum and Art Village. Upon arrival, each group continued the series of activities, presenting various attractions and art performances. These performances were witnessed by thousands of people who packed the event area.

The event received support from the Magelang Regency Tourism Office, the Medang Kamulyan Cooperative, and the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park. The event was further enhanced by artistic performances and the presence of booths from MSMEs and local artists offering a variety of superior works and products.

Dewi Lestari (43), a resident of Mertoyudan District, was one of the visitors who returned to the event for the second consecutive year. According to her, the cultural parade fosters people's love of culture and enhances the spirit of the Independence Day celebrations.

The Cultural Parade and Folk Festival also serve as part of an effort to introduce and promote the richness of local culture to tourists. The presence of both domestic and international tourists visiting the Borobudur Temple area is expected to broaden exposure to the arts, culture, and creative economic potential of the local community.

The Cultural Parade and People's Festival has become an annual event, held for the second time. This event provides a space for artistic and cultural expression and is expected to strengthen community ties within the Borobudur Art Village.
