Periodic TJSL Assistance from PT TWC to Innovative Student Winners
Two months have passed since the awarding of the winners of the 'Innovative Students' program which was given to two groups of students from UGM, now they have started their business journey. Not only grant funds, the PT TWC Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program also accompanies the winners from the initial planning process until the business is running and growing.
Corporate Secretary of PT TWC Emilia Eny Utari accompanied by TWC TJSL Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy directly reviewed the progress achieved by the Kayseeni group (Jalan Kaliurang, Sleman) and Mino Farm (Jogonalan, Klaten), Friday (26/02/2021). This visit is a form of attention to the development of students' businesses.
Kayseeni is a group of UGM students from various faculties who sell wooden cutlery crafts made from leftover wood industry production. Kayseeni consistently tries not to leave any wood waste that is thrown away.
"We are trying to reprocess the remaining waste. Don't let anything be left," said Agnes Fika as one of Kayseeni's managers.
Kayseeni targets consumers who care about environmental sustainability. The application of zero waste in their business is a superior value in the products they produce.
Unlike Kayseeni, Mino Farm is engaged in livestock farming. A group of students from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry UGM breed meat rabbits.
Until now, there have been 3 regular customers for consumption sales needs such as rabbit satay. Male rabbits are bred for consumption purposes with a selling price of 40-45 thousand per kilogram. In addition to meat, they resell the urine of these rabbits as natural fertilizer. They also sell rabbit seeds for further breeding.
In addition to reviewing, Emilia and Eddy also provided input so that in the future, the innovations from these students would have their own unique value so that they would have strong competitiveness and also be able to create jobs.
