The Implementation of Upasika Ratana (Atthasilani) in the Borobudur Temple Area

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (TWC) as the manager of the Borobudur Temple tourist destination, supports the openness of religious activities in the Borobudur Temple area.

This is in line with the Government's agreement that Borobudur Temple can be used for Buddhist religious activities, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding offline and online by the DIY Regional Government; Central Java Provincial Government; Ministry of Religion; Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology; Ministry of SOEs; Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy some time ago.

Several worship activities were carried out in the Borobudur Temple area, one of which was Upasika Ratana (Atthasilani), which was organized by the Indonesian Mahanikaya Buddhist Religious Council (MBMI), 3–6 November 2022. Upasika Ratana was attended by 200 female participants who were mainly Buddhists, with a series of activities including Paritta, Meditation, Dhammatalk, Dhamma Class, Pindapata, etc.

The implementation of Upasika Ratana (Atthasilani) is a real manifestation that Borobudur Temple is a symbol of tolerance and religious harmony in Indonesia. As we all know, Borobudur Temple as the largest Buddhist temple in the world, stands firmly in the midst of diversity. A harmony of life that is full of peace.
