Submission of Assistance for Innovative Student Excellence Program

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) handed over business capital grant funds to three groups of students from SMK NI Kalasan, at Rama Shinta Resto, Taman Wisata Candi Ramayana Performance Theater Unit complex, Sleman, Wednesday (10/11/2021).

The grant worth 25 million rupiah was handed over by the Head of SPI PT TWC Widaryanti accompanied by TJSL & SME Founding Manager Bambang Sarwo Eddy and witnessed by the Head of the DIY Education, Youth and Sports Service (Dikpora) Section Heru Santoso and the Principal of SMKN I Kalasan Eri Yuliantoro.

This flagship program of PT TWC's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) is a support for the development of an entrepreneurial spirit among vocational school students. PT TWC hopes that this grant fund can support the formation of competitive business potential and meet the desires of the community.

"We hope that these selected students can improve their competencies optimally, according to their majors, so that they can set an example for other students and the wider community. Hopefully this assistance will be utilized as well as possible, according to what is intended," explained Widaryanti.

Head of SMK of Dikpora DIY Office Heru Santoso appreciated this grant. According to him, the entrepreneurial spirit needs to be developed in schools to instill an independent spirit and improve the competency of SMK students.

"Entrepreneurship must be possessed by students so that they can prepare what they want to achieve and can prove what their competence is. We really hope for this ability so that they can prove everything they get in school," he said.

The Principal of SMKN I Kalasan Eri Yuliantoro said that the Innovative Student program for SMK is right on target. SMK plays a role as the epicenter of professional and competent experts who are ready to jump directly to support the industry in Indonesia.

"SMK I Kalasan is a creative industry and tourism school. Through this grant, hopefully it can prove that SMK exists and its students are creative and innovative in capturing existing opportunities," he explained.

The winners of the 2021 Innovative Student Program consist of three business groups. The first team is from the Ceramic Craft department consisting of Rimursidah Dwi Astuti, Zainab Nur Afifa and Afifah Khairunnisa. This team submitted a business proposal for making mugs.

The second team came from the Culinary Arts department consisting of Azizah Putri Handayani, Zaki Akmal Raihan and Diki Dwi Prasetya. This team submitted a culinary business idea in the form of Brownies Lumer drinks.

The third team came from the Hotel Accommodation department consisting of Fendra Zul Dawan, Dewi Sofiah and Ivan Kurniawan. The team that proposed the mocktail drink business idea plans to target young consumers.

"The money is for buying equipment, raw materials and renting a place. If the business is planned for the youth area market, such as schools, campuses," said Dewi Sofiah.

Meanwhile, Diki Dwi Prasetyo and his team are interested in creating a culinary business called Brownies Lumer which has been viral lately. According to this 10th grade student majoring in Culinary Arts, brownie products are still popular with consumers, but they still lack access to a wider community.

"We also plan to sell it online, both through marketplaces and social media such as Facebook and Instagram," he said.

The mug glass business that Rimursidah and her team will pioneer is based on the increasing disappearance of this business in society. According to her, this business can still survive according to consumer needs to have exclusive items.

"We see that business actors in this field are getting fewer. Even though people are still looking for it. We are moved to present this business according to this competency," he said.
