Prambanan Merchandise Store Presents Local MSME Products to Support Sustainable Tourism

PT TWC Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur Prambanan and Ratu Boko, or InJourney Destination Management (IDM), opened its official merchandise store at Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Prambanan. The Prambanan Merchandise Store is part of the destination's visual identity.

InJourney Destination Management's Marketing and Business Development Director, Hetty Herawati, said that as a World Heritage site , the Prambanan Temple area is also a cultural melting pot , so the best souvenirs, craft products, and local brand creations must be presented here.

"The Prambanan Merchandise Store can strengthen the identity of a tourist destination, serving as a platform to promote craftsmanship , unique local cuisine, and local brands. It's our mission to package and promote the best MSME products at every destination managed by InJourney Destination Management, one way being through the merchandise store ," explained Hetty Herawati.

Strategically located near the exit and dining facilities, this merchandise outlet offers a comprehensive and convenient shopping experience for tourists. A curated selection of value-for-money souvenirs is available, ensuring visitors can easily find unique and authentic souvenirs from their visit to Prambanan Temple.

The opening of this merchandise store is also part of IDM's commitment to supporting sustainable tourism development.

"Through this initiative, we foster, promote, and develop the potential of local arts and crafts and culture through MSMEs in Central Java and Yogyakarta. The collaboration with Sarinah, Atsiri, and Pasaraya Yogyakarta is a real proof of our efforts in expanding the reach and positive impact for local communities," explained Hetty Herawati.

Some types of products currently sold at the Prambanan merchandise store include silver crafts, leather crafts, official Prambanan Temple merchandise , batik, and various types of local snacks.

One of the interesting merchandise designs is a fashion product and tumbler created by people with autism, the result of a collaboration between IDM and the Bina Abyakta Foundation, which is an educational workshop shelter for people with autism.

"Each product is carefully selected to ensure quality and uniqueness that can evoke beautiful memories of a visit to Prambanan Temple," he concluded.
