PT TWC PARTICIPATES IN WORKING MEETING FOR PREPARATION OF SUPER PRIORITY DESTINATIONS

President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Edy Setijono attended a working meeting attended by Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir and Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno and Deputy Minister of BUMN II, Kartika Wirjoatmodjo at the Office of the Ministry of BUMN, Jakarta, Tuesday (26/1).

The meeting resulted in a number of joint commitments between the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to accelerate and optimize the development of five super priority destinations (DSP), starting from Lake Toba, Labuan Bajo, Borobudur, Mandalika and Likupang.

Specifically, PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono explained the development plan for the Borobudur area as a super priority destination. This plan includes various related aspects, such as concepts, attraction development and development of the area's infrastructure.

Responding to this presentation, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno said that his party as the authority body will collaborate with PT TWC and the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) to develop Borobudur, so that not only the tourism and recreation sector, but also the conservation aspect of Borobudur can still be implemented.

"This is what we will focus on, because there have been 4 million visits, the majority of which are domestic tourists to Borobudur. Of course, we hope that it will not add to Borobudur's burden, so that the conservation-education aspect can still be prioritized," Sandi explained.

Tourism development in Borobudur, according to the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, will also target residents directly, both the development of MSMEs in the surrounding area and also destinations and tourism packages around Borobudur.

"Also, community services as tourist destinations, the arrangement of creative economic products that touch MSMEs can be implemented," he added.
The development of Borobudur also targets tourism packages and the development of tourist villages in the surrounding area.

"Programs such as the Village Economic Center (Balkondes) that we can pair with BUMN, including mentoring of tourist villages and several BUMN CSR programs that can help with readiness, both infrastructure and human resources of tourist villages," continued Sandi.

Based on this meeting, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Ministry of SOEs will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) regarding the readiness of the development of five super priority destinations. Through the MOU, it is hoped that it can resolve problems and accelerate the development of the readiness of the five super priority destinations.
