PT TWC Ready to Synergize to Develop Museum in TMII
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) is ready to synergize with museum managers located in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area to support the development of TMII's vision in the future. This synergy that is built can also be an ember in igniting TMII as The Ultimate Showcase of Indonesia.
This was realized through coordination and consolidation activities between PT TWC and museum managers at TMII, Friday (16/7/2021). This online activity is a means of communication and opens up a discussion space to facilitate government programs in developing TMII in the future.
Corporate Secretary of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) Emilia Eny Utari in her speech said that PT TWC will be open to various proposals and ideas from various parties that are in accordance with the vision of TMII's future development.
"We are open and make sure we understand first that there will be changes. We are happy if in the future in this development we sit together together, can convey what are still obstacles and how to solve them. Of course with good communication, anything can be resolved," he explained.
TMII Museum Coordinator Jaya Purnawijaya said that there needs to be intense support so that the museum can be independent and increase its role in the TMII area. According to him, one of the things that needs to be done is optimizing coordinative efforts between institutions that cover the museums in TMII.
"We need to regulate how the relationship between these institutions, both between TMII and with the Ministry or institutions, local governments and communities. This also affects how this museum can be independent, both in terms of finance, human resources and management. This needs to be considered, so that our museum can support its own operations," he said.
Jaya added that the museum is one of the most visited objects by tourists in the TMII area. This is a challenge in itself in developing the museum in TMII in the future.
"If we look at the visit data of 6 million visitors in 2019, this museum ranks second after the recreation park unit with a percentage of 22 percent of recreation park visitors and 20 percent of museum visitors. Of course, we still have the opportunity to become the main attraction for visits to TMII with the support of existing institutions," he said.
Meanwhile, the manager of the PP IPTEK Museum, Syachrial Annas, said that there is great hope for the continuity of the museum from the new management of TMII. The manager of the museum, which has 28 display rides, hopes that the new management of TMII can change the public's perception of the museum. "Some people have heard that the museum in TMII is old-fashioned. So we need to pay attention to the packaging and it can be conveyed by the new management. So TMII needs to be rebranded," he said.
