PT TWC Implements Safety-Based Services for Tourists at the Temple Tourism Park
In order to anticipate the spread of Covid-19, PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (Persero) (PT TWC) as a professional BUMN managing cultural heritage area continues to provide excellent service to Taman Wisata Candi tourists. This excellent service is the main reference for the safety of tourists visiting this destination.
Referring to this, PT TWC continues to open services by limiting the visiting area for tourists entering the Taman Wisata Candi area. Visitors can only enjoy the beauty of the temple from zone II which is located in the Taman Wisata Candi area. Various interesting facilities can still be accessed by tourists visiting this destination.
"We have made a policy by considering the decision of the government in our region, both Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta, that the Taman Wisata Candi area will remain open with restrictions on the visiting area for tourists. For the next two weeks (16-29 March 2020) during the Covid-19 alert period, tourists are not allowed to go up to the Temple area. Regarding this policy, we will continue to evaluate the conditions in accordance with the development of regional government policies (Central Java and DIY) that cover our work areas." explained the President Director of PT TWC while leading a task force meeting discussing Covid-19 at the TWC Head Office, Monday (16/3/2020).
PT TWC itself has set four parameters in determining the policy of opening tourist access. First , TWC will implement the Covid-19 Public Area Protocol for tourists. Second , TWC will also follow the decisions of the Regional Head where the destination is located, both the Central Java Provincial Government and the Yogyakarta Regional Government. Third , if a suspected Covid-19 case is found in the Taman Wisata Candi area, PT TWC will implement a policy of closing access to the entire area while still taking precautions to prevent the spread. Fourth, there is a government decision to close Borobudur and Prambanan considering that these destinations are Super Priority Destinations. This is done by continuously monitoring the latest developments in the field.
"We take this policy with the aim of preventing excessive panic. We ensure that tourism conditions in Yogyakarta and Central Java remain conducive. Of course, by remaining alert and vigilant." Edy Setijono added.
In response to this, PT TWC itself has implemented a policy of reducing entrance ticket prices for visiting tourists. This will be enforced from March 16 to 29, 2020 until services return to normal.
"We are implementing a single entrance fee for the temple area. We are eliminating the need for through tickets for tourists to reduce the spread of COVID-19," said Edy Setijono. Customers with ticketing inquiries can contact the PT TWC call center at 0811-2688-000.
PT TWC has established a Covid-19 Prevention Task Force tasked with implementing preventive measures within the Temple Tourism Park. As a precautionary measure, PT TWC will also disinfect the entire Temple Tourism Park area, including the parking area, main entrance, and other facilities within the area, such as restrooms, prayer rooms, and shelters where tourists may gather. PT TWC will collaborate with the Conservation Center and the Cultural Heritage Preservation Center to disinfect the temple area.
This is an effective measure to reduce the potential spread of COVID-19. In addition, PT TWC will also conduct fogging to prevent the spread of dengue fever mosquitoes within the Candi Tourism Park area.
"This task force, in addition to preventing Covid-19, also has the task of monitoring areas that have the potential to be sources of dengue fever. We will coordinate with various parties, both the Health Service and referral hospitals," explained Edy Setijono.
