PT TWC TEMPORARILY CLOSES OPERATIONS IN BOROBUDUR TEMPLE TOURIST PARK AREA

In order to support the Government in preventing and minimizing the spread of Covid-19, PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) is temporarily closing operations in the Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur area, Magelang Regency during the Eid holiday starting from 8-17 May 2021.

This decision was made in accordance with the policy taken by the Magelang Regency Government by issuing a Circular Letter from the Regent of Magelang Number: 443.5/1729//01.01/2021 dated May 4, 2021, which stipulates that tourist destinations for areas with orange and red zones, community activities at tourist destinations are prohibited and tourist attractions are closed to the public.

"We, as the manager of Zone II of Borobudur Temple, will support this policy by closing operations during the Eid holiday. This step is taken as an effort to prevent the transmission and spread of Covid-19 in tourist destinations. The ban on homecoming from the Central Government is an effort to avoid crowds at destinations so that it is feared that it can create new clusters," explained PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono at the PT TWC Head Office, Yogyakarta, Friday (7/5/2021).

"Of course we are very concerned about this condition, but we will continue to support this regulation, so that this condition will end soon and the tourism world will recover quickly," he continued.

"During the closure, we continue to maintain the destination as a form of commitment to the CHSE certification that we received from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, and will continue to be followed by preventive efforts carried out periodically to spray disinfectants throughout the TWC area and maintain the cleanliness of the work environment followed by all employees," added the Head of the TWC Disaster Task Force, Emilia Eny Utari.

"We will continue to maintain the environment in the area to remain sterile and clean from Covid-19. Hopefully this situation and the efforts made by the Government can be achieved so that conditions will continue to improve, the economy and tourism will recover," concluded Edy Setijono.
