PT TWC Temporarily Closes Operations in the Candi Tourism Park Area
PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC) Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (Persero) has extended the closure of tourist services to several tourist destinations, including Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko temples, as well as the Ramayana Ballet performance. This temporary closure will be in effect from April 22 to May 13, 2020.
The closure of services at TWC is taking into account the conditions in the Central Java and DIY Provinces which are still implementing the emergency response conditions for the COVID-19 Pandemic and referring to regulations issued by the Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia.
This closure is intended to assist the government in focusing on breaking the chain of transmission of the COVID-19 outbreak. To support this effort, PT TWC, in addition to closing tourist access, is also implementing a work-from-home (WFH) policy for its employees.
"We strongly support the government's efforts to combat the Covid-19 outbreak in the community. We are taking preventative measures and helping to ease the burden on those affected by this outbreak by providing basic food aid. Furthermore, to appreciate the services of medical personnel, PT TWC is also providing food supplies, vitamins, and dietary supplements to support their challenging work in caring for Covid-19 patients," said PT TWC President Director Edy Setijono in Prambanan on Tuesday (April 21, 2020).
To help expedite the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, PT TWC has issued an official circular to all employees urging them not to travel outside the region or return home for Eid al-Fitr 1441 H during the current state of emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This is in accordance with Circular Letter No. SE4/MBU/04/2020 of the Indonesian Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, dated April 6, 2020.
"We also urge everyone to stay home. We, as destination managers, will continue to maintain and care for the parks and prepare everything to provide new experiences and attract tourists to our destinations when conditions return to normal. We hope the COVID-19 pandemic will end soon," continued the man who also serves as the Regional Coordinator of the National SOE Task Force for the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
