Gateball Tournament Series at TWC Prambanan

A series of national-level Gateball tournaments will be held at the Siwa Field, Prambanan Temple Tourism Park (TWC) complex, from 5 to 10 November 2022. This agenda is organized by the Regional Management (Pengda) of the All-Indonesia Gateball Association (Pergatsi) DI Yogyakarta and in collaboration with PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko.

There are three national level tournament agendas held at TWC Prambanan, namely, the Gateball National Championship (Kejurnas), the Jogja Istimewa Open Tournament and the Prambanan Open. This national event will enliven the massive sport tourism event that has developed in the post-pandemic era. The combination of sports activities with tourism can be one of the factors accelerating the potential to attract tourists to tourist destinations, especially cultural heritage destinations.

The 2022 National Gateball Championship was opened by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono who also serves as the General Chairperson of the All Indonesia Gateball Association, Chairperson of the DIY Pergatsi Gatot Saptadi, Director of Operations and Infrastructure Development of PT TWC Mardijono Nugroho and GM of the TWC Prambanan Unit AY Suhartanto.

As the manager of the TWC Prambanan zone II area, PT TWC also encourages efforts to accelerate sport tourism events in this UNESCO World Heritage cultural heritage area. Sport tourism activities at TWC Prambanan will echo the spirit of preservation that goes hand in hand with efforts to make cultural heritage destinations famous, especially to the younger generation of Indonesia.
