Embracing Residents to Pioneer Coffee Cultivation, TWCB Hands Over Equipment & Coffee Seeds

The concern of Borobudur Temple Tourism Park (TWCB) towards the community and the surrounding environment is a corporate responsibility that must be carried out. TWCB wants to move forward with the community to develop the tourism potential around Borobudur Temple. One of them is the potential for Coffee in Kerug Batur Hamlet, Majaksingi Village, Borobudur District. Seeing the potential for Coffee in the area, PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko (TWC) through TWCB provides assistance to raise this potential.
Borobudur Temple Tourism Park (TWCB) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Food Crops, Plantations and Forestry of Magelang Regency embraced the residents of Kerug Batur Hamlet, Majaksingi Village to pioneer the cultivation of Borobudur coffee in 2016. The collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, Food Crops, Plantations and Forestry (DPTPPK) of Magelang Regency was realized through the implementation of coffee cultivation training for residents of Kerug Batur Hamlet, Majaksingi Village, Borobudur District. This is intended so that residents gain knowledge about coffee cultivation and processing from coffee experts from DPTPPK Magelang Regency, so that in the future it is hoped that residents can manage coffee better.
"Our commitment is to help the environment to progress, one of which is through trainings like this. There is coffee potential here, we hope that residents can produce quality coffee that can later become the icon of Borobudur Coffee," said TWCB General Manager, Chrisnamurti Adiningrum.
He said that Kerug Batur Hamlet is rich in agricultural products in the form of coffee, but so far residents have only sold raw coffee to consumers. For this reason, TWCB embraces residents, providing assistance so that residents can increase the selling value of coffee with proper processing. In addition to coffee, this hamlet also has amazing natural tourism potential, namely Punthuk Gajah Mungkur.

And today, January 29, 2018, TWCB again provides support to the residents of Kerug Batur Hamlet, Majaksingi Village, Borobudur District by handing over assistance in the form of coffee equipment and seeds. The assistance provided includes a Roasting Machine (Coffee Fryer), Grider (Coffee Grinder), Hario Kattel (Coffee Boiler), France Press (Coffee Testing Tool), Coffee Driper, Paper Filter, and a thousand Robusta Coffee seedlings.
TWCB General Manager, Chrisnamurti Adiningrum, also felt happy that TWC could provide this assistance to residents of Kerug Batur Hamlet, Majaksingi Village, Borobudur District.
"We believe that the Head of Majaksingi Village and his staff can make good use of our assistance. We all hope that with our assistance and concern, we can further advance and develop the potential of Coffee tourism in Kerug Batur. Hopefully in the future there will also be a kind of Coffee Shop here, so tourists can go on a Coffee tour, sit back and relax enjoying Coffee and snacks, and even learn firsthand the process of making Coffee. There are still many opportunities to develop Kerug Batur tourism to be more advanced and developed in the future," said Chrisnamurti Adiningrum.
Meanwhile, the Head of Majaksingi Village, B. Budiyono expressed his gratitude to TWC, especially TWCB, for their assistance and guidance so far.
"I, on behalf of the Majaksingi community, especially Kerug Batur Hamlet, would like to express my gratitude for the assistance and concern from TWC so far. Starting from mentoring, trainings and assistance in the form of coffee processing equipment and coffee seeds provided today. Of course, it is a joy for us and at the same time motivates us to develop Kerug Batur Coffee tourism even better. And thank God, Kerug Batur Coffee has many fans," said Budiyono.
