Celebrate National Kebaya Day with Fun Vacation: Kebaya Tells Stories at Ratu Boko Palace
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management (IDM) held an exciting activity titled Vakansi Ria: Kebaya Bercerita on Wednesday (24/7/2024) in the courtyard of Keraton Ratu Boko, Sleman, Yogyakarta. This activity was presented to enliven National Kebaya Day and invite young people to travel while wearing kebaya and wastra to cultural heritage destinations.
Ria Vacation: Kebaya Bercerita is held thanks to the collaboration between InJourney Destination Management, tapi.aku.suka, Kelinci Tidur, Fanny Soegi, and the youth community Tamasya Karsa. This activity presents three main activities, namely, Exploring Ratu Boko Palace which invites participants to explore every corner and story of this cultural heritage site, a sharing session Kebaya Bercerita with Kushandari Arfanidewi ( @kelincitertidur ) and Dilla Auliya aka kudil (Atapi.aku.suka), as well as a special session with Fanny Soegi.
Ria Vacation: Kebaya Bercerita will also invite participants to celebrate kebaya day with a simple fashion show wearing kebaya and wastra at the main gate of Ratu Boko Palace. In addition, this activity also involves authentic local brands, including Jamu Jawa Mba Thuk, Wastra Sukaria by tapi.aku.suka, Dje.Djak Rasa, Elder Patisserie, Kebaya Oma, Batik Widodo Chris, and Jari Manis Jewellery . Interestingly, all proceeds from the sales of the above local brands and ticket donations will be distributed to institutions protecting women, children, and disabilities in Yogyakarta.
Participants attending the event are required to wear kebaya and wastra to create an atmosphere full of ethnic and elegant nuances, a form of pride in the nation's cultural heritage. Collaboration with various communities in Yogyakarta also makes it a momentum to strengthen togetherness and commitment in preserving kebaya.

Vakansi Ria: Kebaya Bercerita is a form of IDM's commitment to continue collaborating with various parties in order to develop cultural heritage destinations by presenting quality tourism programs. This community-based tourism presents a variety of exciting activities that foster new and memorable experiences.
The community-based approach we've developed at the Ratu Boko Palace is an integral part of sustainable tourism development, significantly impacting the economy, socio-cultural aspects, and the environment. Various tourism activities, such as introducing local food and beverages and utilizing the surrounding natural resources through outdoor activities like trekking and walking, continue to be developed at the Ratu Boko Palace.
