Celebrate the Charming New Year at the Swara Prambanan Concert

InJourney Destination Management has prepared various activities for visitors to special temple tourist attractions in the Central Java Province and the Special Region of Yogyakarta during the year-end holidays.

In a press conference regarding the 2024 Swara Prambanan event in Jakarta, Monday, IDM President Director Febrina Intan explained that Swara Prambanan, which will be held at the end of December, will take the theme of the story of Roro Jonggrang, the local legend behind the creation of Prambanan Temple.

The theme of Roro Jonggrang in the Swara Prambanan activity raises a message to women to empower themselves to achieve success. Swara Prambanan is also a routine activity held every year-end as a typical intellectual property (IP) from Prambanan.

"So when people know Swara Prambanan, they will know Roro Jonggrang, so that is the equity that we will build, so we must be consistent with the key messages and activities that we will carry out in the years ahead," he said at the Swara Prambanan press conference in Jakarta, Monday (16/12/2024).

This year, Swara Prambanan presents Indonesia's proud female musicians, including Raisa Andriana, Vina Panduwinata, Nadin Amizah, JKT 48, Mocca. Swara Prambanan presents workshops on making grass puppets, pottery and shibori batik. Swara Prambanan also invites families who bring children to be able to experience activities around Prambanan with the Dolanria Prambanan activity.

In this activity, children will do age-appropriate game activities with their parents during school holidays. The existence of Dolanria Prambanan is based on InJourney's experience of seeing many tourists who bring their children to see Prambanan temple as a cultural educational tour.

"We are not only looking for revenue, but how we can provide economic and social impacts to the surrounding community, including local artists and artists. There will also be space for local artists, for local artists to showcase their work," said Febrina.

Raisa Andriana, a famous Indonesian soloist and songwriter, is committed to giving her best performance at Swara Prambanan.

"The concept of this festival that combines music, art, and culture is very unique and interesting. As a musician, I really appreciate this concept. Moreover, Swara Prambanan created a festival concept based on a local legend. This concept is very mindful and must be really exciting to attend in person," said Raisa.

Vina Panduwinata also expressed her impressions of being able to perform at Prambanan Temple at the end of this year.

"It is an honor for me to be able to sing in a historical location full of beauty and cultural value like Prambanan Temple, especially with the last twilight of the year as a backdrop," he said.

In addition to music performances, a variety of authentic Jogja arts and culture will also be presented through collaboration with dozens of local artists and communities in presenting various activities, such as watching films by local filmmakers with the JAFF Community Forum, coloring puppets with Trag Studio, making pottery with Rene Pottery, mixing wedang with Segara Jamu Bar, flying kites with Talikama.

In addition, there was a classical Javanese dance performance from Narestari, a dance performance of the legend of Roro Jonggrang from Cendhik Art Dance, a keroncong music performance from the Keroncong Atap group, an angklung music performance from the Angklung Satria community, and a hip-hop music performance from Wijilan Kidz—a hip-hop group of children from Wijilan village, Jogja.

The art installation “Proof of Love Ke-1000” by Rara Kuastra and Putud Utama from the Tempa art group will also be present to enliven the festival, depicting the final story of the legend of Roro Jonggrang where Bandung Bondowoso was only able to build 999 temples out of the 1.000 temples required by Roro Jonggrang.

The festival will be closed with a spectacular fireworks display to welcome the new year 2025. Tickets for Swara Prambanan 2024 can be purchased through the website swaraprambanan.com with prices starting from IDR 150 thousand. There is also a more economical family bundling package, namely 4 tickets for IDR 500 thousand.
