TMII Revitalization as “The Ultimate Showcase of Indonesia” Completed in October 2022

PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney as the parent of the BUMN Tourism and Supporting Holding is committed to encouraging the revival of the tourism sector, one of which is by revitalizing Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). Through its subsidiary, PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko or TWC, ensures that TMII is developed to be better without eliminating the identity, character, diversity and beauty of Indonesia. Moreover, TWC is a company that has been involved in the field of Heritage Destination Management for a long time.

InJourney President Director Dony Oskaria explained that the operational hours of TMII are still under discussion between TWC and the Ministry of State Secretariat so that it remains partially open even though it is in the revitalization stage. Carrying the concept of Indonesia Opera, the revitalization of TMII will represent the diversity and richness of Indonesia's regional and cultural potential. Through a touch of modern ideas, TMII will transform into The Ultimate Showcase of Indonesia.

"The revitalization process is expected to be completed in October 2022 for several main areas. Of course, this process will involve many parties who have competence and understand the essence of TMII's existence at the beginning," said Dony.

Dony added that in the future, TMII will remain an educational recreation center that showcases Indonesia's diversity, through pavilions of traditional Indonesian houses, places of worship in Indonesia, miniature archipelagos that can be seen with a cable car that stretches as well as the legendary Keong Mas ride that is a witness to the progress of cinema in Indonesia.

For your information, TWC has officially become the manager of TMII on July 1, 2021 through the TMII Utilization Cooperation (KSP) between the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensesneg) and TWC for a period of 25 years. InJourney will continue to encourage and oversee the revitalization process so that it runs according to target so that TMII can become one of the cultural and educational tourism destinations that can be enjoyed by the Indonesian people soon.
