As the main program in the #AgustusandiCandi series, InJourney Destination Management presents the Geden Kemerdekaan Promo, a Geden Kemerdekaan Promo that offers an 81 percent discount on entrance tickets for tourists who wear red and white attire when visiting Borobudur Temple, Prambanan Temple, and Ratu Boko Palace. Various sports activities combine with the beauty of the heritage landscape through the Move at The Temple program. At Prambanan Temple, tourists can participate in Independence Day Sunset Yoga in Prambanan on August 15, 2026, at 4:00 PM WIB, offering a workout experience with the majestic silhouette of Prambanan Temple at sunset as a backdrop.

On August 16, 2026, Keraton Ratu Boko presents Move at The Temple: Merdeka Dalam Harmoni, a morning yoga session that invites participants to enjoy the serene atmosphere of the heritage area while welcoming Independence Day with self-reflection and a spirit of togetherness.

Meanwhile, at Borobudur Temple, the Move at The Temple: Road to Borobudur Marathon will be held on August 30, 2026, as part of an effort to promote a healthy lifestyle while introducing the cultural landscape of Borobudur through sports activities.

Enjoying Independence Day Sunset at Ratu Boko Palace

Ratu Boko Palace presents a special experience through Ratu Boko Sunset: Sandyakala Prabu Boko on August 15, 2026, at 4:30 PM WIB. This program invites tourists to enjoy the panoramic sunset combined with historical and cultural narratives and the romantic atmosphere of the Ratu Boko Palace site, making the sunset experience even more meaningful on this Independence Day occasion.

The Independence Day Competition Enlivens the Spirit of Mutual Cooperation with Communities Around the Destination

On August 17, 2026, the spirit of independence will be present through the Merdeka Competition, which will involve visitors and local residents. Various traditional games such as climbing a greased pole, eating crackers, tug-of-war, temple assembly, marble races, clog and stilt races, sack races, and bottle-breaking competitions will be held throughout the destination area. 

The Independence Day Competition will involve members of the Bokoharjo Village Family Welfare Movement (PKK) in the Prambanan Temple area and vendors in the Borobudur Art Village area. Through this activity, InJourney Destination Management creates a space for interaction between tourists and local residents, allowing them to experience the spirit of togetherness, mutual cooperation, and the joy of August 14th.

Invite Tourists Photo Challenge Immortalize the Spirit of Independence at Destinations

The spirit of independence was also realized through the #AgustusandiCandi Photo Challenge which took place on August 17, 2026. Visitors were invited to upload their best moments while traveling to InJourney Destination Management destinations using the hashtags #AgustusandiCandi and #JiwaRagaMerdeka.

Ten of the best entries will be selected to win various attractive prizes. This digital activation is expected to expand public participation and strengthen the promotion of Indonesian heritage destinations through creative content produced directly by tourists.

TMII Presents a People's Independence Day Festival with the Spirit of the Archipelago

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) presents the Indonesian Independence Day People's Festival "Semarak Jiwa Nusantara" on August 15-17, 2026. One of the main agendas is the Semarak Indonesia Parade which takes place from Plaza Kori Agung to the Indonesian Children's Palace.

This collaborative cultural parade, featuring museums and regional pavilions, showcases a wealth of traditional clothing, traditional music, regional dances, and various attractions typical of the archipelago, representing Indonesia's diversity living in harmony. 

At the TMII Cultural Stage area, the Sangkuriang cultural performance will be presented on August 15, 2026, the Kecak Glow in the Dark performance on August 16, 2026, and the Shinta Obong performance on August 17, 2026. In the Kori Agung area, the TMII Folk Arts Stage will be presented, featuring traditional performances in collaboration with various regional arts. This program is open to anyone to present creative, inclusive, and relevant works and become a space for Indonesian culture to continue to live, develop, and be enjoyed by more generations. 

For three days, the TMII area will be filled with various cultural and entertainment activities, including the installation of 681 Red and White flags throughout the area and the implementation of the August 17 Flag Ceremony as a symbol of respect for the nation's struggle.

For those who enjoy a challenge, TMII presents TMII Hirux, a team relay race inspired by the Hyrox concept with a twist on Indonesian folk games. Each team of four participants will run in a relay through five stations, a uniquely Indonesian challenge that emphasizes teamwork, agility, and a spirit of togetherness.
