Mount Merapi Erupts, Aryono Hendro, "Prambanan is Safe"

This morning, Mount Merapi erupted. Smoke was seen rising from Mount Merapi. Based on information from BPBD, this eruption was a phreatic eruption.

GM Prambanan Aryono Hendro, regarding this eruption, said that conditions at the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park were safe.

"After the eruption of Mount Merapi, Prambanan is safe. Prambanan is still far from Merapi. The information from BPBD earlier was that the closest was 5 km. Prambanan is more than 25 km away. So it is still within a safe radius," said Aryono.

”Visitors are requested to remain calm and carry out their tourism activities in a calm state. There has been no impact whatsoever in Prambanan until now. This morning is calm, indeed there are some visitors who read the news on social media but we ensure that all are in a safe condition. Until now there has been no ash rain in Prambanan. Hopefully it will not reach here. However, if there is ash rain, we will work together with the DIY BPCB to prepare in anticipation if ash rain reaches Prambanan,” added Aryono.
