Improve Performance Performance, IDM Presents Dance Costume Making Training for Prambanan Ramayana Artists
InJourney Destination Management is committed to fostering the independence of Ramayana Prambanan artists which has a direct impact on improving their welfare. This is realized by presenting a dance costume making training program for 13 dance studios that are active in Ramayana Ballet Prambanan.
The program titled Mangku Budaya is part of InJourney Destination Management's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL). This one-day training is expected to be a sustainable program that supports the Ramayana performance and can be a productive asset for each dance studio.
Mangku Budaya is also a form of appreciation for the artists who have supported and been active in Ramayana Prambanan. In addition, this event is also a form of celebration of the 63rd Anniversary of Ramayana Ballet Prambanan which falls on August 25, 2024.
"Ramayana Prambanan is an extraordinary journey, the source of our cultural life, which is displayed in dance and karawitan. Mangku Budaya is our response to seeing the commitment and dedication of all of you. Our contribution to cultural actors who sincerely and willingly perform in the Ramayana Ballet which can also be enjoyed by all those present and learn from the younger generation," explained Corporate Secretary Group Head IDM Ryan Eka Permana Sakti, Monday (26/8/2024).
IDM Cultural Consultant, Prof. Dr. H. Timbul Haryono encouraged artists involved in Ramayana Prambanan to continue to develop their wings, improve their abilities so that they remain relevant to the development of the times.
"Art is multifaceted , not just dancing, not just gamelan; it's also art for the market. We can expand our reach and innovate as much as possible, avoiding being confined to just one art form. Hopefully, the efforts developed by PT TWC and the Ramayana Theater & Performance Unit will truly lead us to collective progress," he explained.
The representative of the dance studio group, Suwarto, expressed his readiness to develop independence and continue to innovate to present charming and memorable performances for visiting tourists.
"We from the dance group, we are ready to hold a costume making workshop in this Mangku Budaya program. Hopefully it will continue, because the costume will also experience developments over time, but we are committed to not leaving the true spirit, the essence of the Ramayana itself," he explained.
Meanwhile, Head of Customs, Traditions, Cultural Institutions and Arts of the Sleman Regency Cultural Service, Ignatius Eko Feriyanto, hopes that the Mangku Budaya program initiated by IDM can improve the visiting experience for tourists to be more meaningful.
"Usually in Ramayana, before and after the performance, visitors can interact with the artists. Provide good service and interaction, which will be a different experience. Through the title of Mangku Budaya, it is certainly expected to improve the performance of the performance," he concluded.
