Borobudur Art Village Traders' Efforts to Present Typical Indonesian Hospitality through InJourney Hospitality House
PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko or InJourney Destination Management in collaboration with PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) presents InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) training for 120 business actors in Borobudur Art Village, Magelang, Central Java, from 24-26 June 2025.
This three-day intensive training is a form of effort to improve the quality standards of service in the local tourism ecosystem through cultural expressions and experiences through locals in tourist destination areas in Indonesia. InJourney Hospitality House is a holding program of PT Aviasi dan Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney which aims to introduce local Indonesian hospitality to the world.
Commercial Group Head of PT Taman Wisata Borobudur AY Suhartanto in his speech said that IHH training is part of the acceleration that occurs in Borobudur as one of the super priority destinations in Indonesia. Through this, Borobudur is required to improve competency standards in terms of service, business processes, innovation and supporting facilities at the destination.
"Ladies and gentlemen are at the forefront of creating a positive impression for visitors. Borobudur is not only a DPSP (Indonesian Cultural Heritage Site), but also a World Heritage Site. All eyes, both central and regional governments, are very concerned about Borobudur. We hope that this improved service will increase visitor numbers and have a positive economic impact," he explained.
Stakeholder Relation Department Head of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia Yogyakarta International Airport Ike Yutianne said that this training is a form of commitment in encouraging national tourism post-pandemic and creating a better quality tourism ecosystem. IHH is also expected to be a place to strengthen capacity and improve services for local tourism actors by providing an unforgettable experience through typical Indonesian hospitality.
"The IHH program is specifically designed to provide applicable and relevant training to form tourism human resources that are strong, competitive and able to present memorable, world-class tourism experiences for all tourists, especially at the Borobudur destination," he continued.
IHH training prepares participants to welcome tourists by presenting authentic Indonesian hospitality as a foundation for implementing excellent service and achieving quality tourism. Participants receive training on behavior and effective communication in hospitality.
In addition, participants are provided with English, French and Japanese language training. This language training is a necessity for business actors in KSB to welcome foreign tourists who come according to the largest percentage of foreign tourists.
One of the business actors in Borobudur Art Village, Mudalyono, said that the InJourney Hospitality House (IHH) training is useful for providing the best service to domestic and foreign guests.
"We will always provide maximum service, supported by this training. We'll equip you with various skills, especially in hospitality, to ensure all visitors have a satisfying visit to Borobudur. We hope this knowledge will be beneficial and continue to be useful, bolstering our enthusiasm for progress and, God willing, ensuring a smooth flow of prosperity. We remain passionate about making Borobudur an even more advanced destination," he explained.
