Indonesian Vice President Enjoys Morning Atmosphere at TWC Borobudur
Vice President (Wapres) KH Ma'ruf Amin this morning, Friday (22/04/2022), directly inspected areas in the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park (TWC) as far as 1,5 KM.
The activity was carried out while exercising in the morning to maintain physical health during the Vice President's working visit to Central Java and DI Yogyakarta, and after receiving the report he received on the visit on the first day, Thursday (21/04/2022).
"So, the arrangement of Borobudur is leveraging the people's economy, that's what's important, it can leverage the people's economy. This is extraordinary," said the Vice President.
Accompanied by the President Director of TWC Borobudur, Edy Setijono, the Vice President directly observed the results of maintenance and the readiness of infrastructure in Zone 1, Zone 2, and Zone 3 of the area.
Meanwhile, efforts to leverage the economy of the TWC Borobudur area, Edy explained, will be carried out in several ways. First, through training that will be given to UMKM traders so that their products can meet market tastes.
"Training will be conducted for the trader group to improve, for example, product design, production techniques, packaging, and the promotion or marketing process of their products," explained Edy.
Thus, he continued, it will further open up opportunities for tourists to spend more because they get a good variety of products with good service from traders.
"Then secondly, we built a program called Balkondes (Village Economic Hall) which is our effort to grow the local economy at the village level," explained Edy.
Edy assessed that the existence of Balkondes has encouraged the emergence of new business opportunities. Many local people have started to build businesses for services, such as culinary, homestays, and crafts that are well connected in each Balkondes.
"We also encourage business opportunities for local transportation that connects Borobudur to villages or to Balkondes-Balkondes spread across the Borobudur area," he said.
