Realizing Quality Tourism, PT TWC Pursues CHSE Certification for All Rides at TMII

PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) plans to accelerate the Cleanliness, Health, Safety and Environment sustainability (CHSE) certification for all tourist attractions in the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) area. The implementation of the certification acceleration which will synergize with the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf) and PT Sucofindo (Persero) will complete the list of units that have been CHSE certified in 2020.

The program is planned to be implemented from September to November 2021 targeting 37 work units, including restaurants, gallery restaurants, museums and regional pavilions. The implementation of CHSE is intended to ensure that each unit has, implements, maintains and improves health protocol procedures.

Marketing & Service Director of PT TWC Hetty Herawati said that improving the quality of services, products and facilities has become a main commitment that continues to be carried out in all tourist destinations managed by TWC.

CHSE certification is a standard that must be implemented to create safe and quality tourism.

"This is a commitment to the community, ensuring that they are safe and comfortable when visiting our destinations. Its implementation requires awareness and cooperation from various related parties," he said when opening the CHSE Socialization with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Thursday (19/8/2021).
Director of Destination Development 1 of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Harwan Ekon Cahyo Wirasto added that the CHSE certification is one of the tourism recovery programs in welcoming the post-pandemic era. This certification creates a sense of confidence for destination managers and tourists to carry out tourism activities domestically.

"A certified entity means that it has been calibrated and assessed measurably according to CHSE aspects. This creates a sense of confidence, both for tourists and for destination managers," he explained.

Coordinator of Regional Institution III of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf Herbin Saragi said that all tourist destinations in TMII need to obtain this CHSE certification. This is to encourage the readiness of destinations to face post-pandemic life.

"TMII is a complete tourist attraction and its access is also easy. So, this certification effort is one form of preparing TMII to be able to prepare itself, how to welcome guests, tourists in the post-pandemic era," he said.

Vice President of SBU Certification & Ecoframework PT Sucofindo (Persero) Nurbeta Kurniawan said that the CHSE certification process will not be different from last year, but there will be adjustments in accordance with the Emergency PPKM regulations that are still in effect.

"The mechanism is no different, but it is adjusted to the PPKM. However, we do not conduct online audits. The process will be carried out as well as possible to support destinations in preparing to welcome tourists back," he said.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Indonesia, PT TWC has implemented a policy of excellent service based on tourist safety through the implementation of visitor management and the implementation of CHSE. One of the practices is by implementing cashless and touchless transactions at the destinations it manages. In 2020, PT TWC collaborated with PT Sucofindo (Persero) to successfully carry out a CHSE audit for 8 work units consisting of 4 destinations, 3 restaurants and hotels with a satisfactory predicate. TMII itself has also received CHSE certification from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in several museums, regional pavilions and rides.
